Privacy policy
Your boards are nobody's business.
Effective July 5, 2026 · applies to Atelier for macOS
What Atelier stores
Everything you put into Atelier (boards, images, notes, palettes, settings) lives in Atelier's storage folder on your Mac (you can open it anytime from Settings). It is never uploaded, synced, or copied anywhere by us. Deleting that folder deletes everything; there is no server-side copy because there is no server.
What leaves your Mac
Only network requests you initiate directly, and only to do the thing you asked:
- Link previews and image URLs. When you paste a link or an image address onto a board, Atelier fetches that page or image directly from the site you pasted, the same request your browser would make. The URL is not sent to us or to any intermediary.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple and the Mac App Store. We never see your payment details, and Atelier only checks its subscription status with Apple.
On-device search
Atelier's visual search (describing an image to find it) runs a machine learning model locally on your Mac. Your images and search queries are never uploaded. The model ships inside the app.
The browser clipper
The optional browser extension sends clipped images straight to the Atelier app on your Mac using a local link. Nothing passes through any server, and the extension collects no browsing data.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Given the app's design, there isn't much room for it to change.
